Choose steel when nozzle breakage from drops or rough handling is a concern. Steel resists impact better than ceramic. Ceramic outlasts steel under abrasive media wear but chips under impact. In environments where the 13/64″ nozzle is handled frequently, steel reduces breakage replacement costs.

The 13/64″ Small bore suits precision siphon cabinet work: small parts, jewelry, and fine surface cleaning where a 1/4″ bore removes material too quickly. The steel version serves the same applications as ceramic but where impact resistance matters more than wear life.

Replace the nozzle alone when the bore shows wear but the air jet is undamaged and still draws media consistently. Steel nozzles wear faster than ceramic - inspect the 13/64″ bore more frequently. If the air jet also shows wear, replace both from a matched kit to restore correct clearance.
