ALC 1/8 Pressure Pot Blast Nozzle

The 1/8″ bore suits small automotive parts, bicycle frames, brackets, small castings, and hardware where the 3/32″ is too slow but larger sizes are excessive. At 1 to 1.5 sq ft/min, it delivers productive coverage without the compressor demand of 5/32″ or larger nozzle sizes.

The 1/8″ nozzle draws 15 CFM at 80 PSI. A 7 to 10 HP two-stage compressor sustains this size in production. Single-stage compressors typically cannot maintain 15 CFM at 80 PSI during sustained blasting, causing pressure drops that reduce output and blast pattern consistency.

The 1/8″ uses 15 CFM and covers 1 to 1.5 sq ft/min. The 5/32″ uses 25 CFM and covers 2 to 2.5 sq ft/min. If your compressor sustains 25 CFM at 80 PSI, step up to 5/32″ for faster production. If not, the 1/8″ is the better fit for your current setup.

The 1/8″ bore handles aluminum oxide (60 to 120 grit), glass bead (fine to medium), and similar dry abrasive media. Very coarse media above 36 grit can cause irregular flow at this bore size. Maintain 80 PSI for consistent media throughput of 150 lbs/hr through the 1/8″ bore.

Replace the 1/8″ nozzle when blast output drops without a pressure change, when the bore widens visibly, or when the blast pattern scatters. Ceramic wear is gradual at this size. Compare blast coverage per pass over time - a worn 1/8″ nozzle behaves like a 5/32″ before you notice the bore change.
